”Earth is a beautiful place. Paradise is all around us. All you have to do is open your eyes” – Eckhart Tolle
The artist behind Aloha Atelje is Emelie Wiklund, who is a watercolor artist based in Sweden. Most of her work is focused on highlighting the beauty of this world. Landscape, nature and wildlife portrayed by Emelie’s colors and brushes. Emelie was born with synesthesia, a rare condition where the brain connects the nerve fibers from all the external senses to then create a mental image of colors. A synesthetic person can perceive music, emotions, personalities or words as colors. Emelie always uses her synesthesia in her painting when she tries to recreate the colors and emotions she experiences in her life.
Emelie has a double bachelor’s degree in Media Technology and Destination Development, but she has also studied sustainable development, sustainable design, sustainable water management, environmental science and geology. This clearly shows her fascination of ecological processes, plate tectonics, ecosystem, all the world’s animals and, above all, sustainable development. She hopes that through her paintings, create an interest in the world’s most beautiful flora and fauna.
